METRO TOURNAMENT - SNOW UPDATES
(As of 11:00 pm Sunday, March 9th)
Most tournament brackets have had games rescheduled. However; the Metro is receiving frequent updates to these schedules from area coordinators.
PLEASE CHECK YOUR BRACKET FREQUENTLY FOR CHANGES!!! (See below for more detail on the rescheduling process) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Some Clarification on Rescheduling Process. Area coordinators where games originally were scheduled are handling the rescheduling for tournament games in their area as they are the ones that know when gym time will be available in their respective areas. For example, the Glen Este coordinator is handling the rescheduling of tournament games that were originally to be played in Glen Este area gyms. As is the Milford coordinator responsible for the games in Milford, etc. HOWEVER; IF GYM TIME IS AVAILABLE SOMEWHERE, THE METRO RESERVES THE RIGHT TO PUT TEAMS IN OPEN TIMES TO TRY AND GET GAMES PLAYED. Many coordinators have rescheduled their brackets at this point. The Metro appreciates all the hard work they have done. Some coordinators have re-adjusted their brackets multiple times trying to accomodate coaches from their respective areas. Unfortunately, this has caused a catch 22 situation, trying to accomodate coaches changes the schedule again. The Metro apologizes for any inconvenience caused by multiple rescheduling of games. If you are involved in a game that has been rescheduled multiple times, you should have been notified by your area coordinator each time the game was rescheduled. The rescheduling process has been as follows: 1. Metro area coordinator secures new locations and times for games that were postponed due to the weather. 2. Metro area coordinator submits updated bracket containing rescheduled games to the Metro. 3. Metro updates the brackets with changes and sends the changes to ALL OTHER Metro area coordinators. 4. Each Metro League coordinator with a team from his/her area involved in a change is responsible for notifying the coaches of these teams of the changes in the schedule that have occurred. 5. The Metro updates the website with these changes, noting the time of the update at the top of the bracket. Switching everything to the next weekend would have been easiest, but then there are the issues of spring break and gyms already scheduled for baseball. Since we want to get this tournament played, we are going to have to squeeze games in. Thank you all for working with us AND KEEP CHECKING YOUR BRACKET OR TALKING TO YOUR AREA COORDINATOR.
